She decided to go back home and warm up by the fire.
As she walked back home, she lit more matches to warm herself up and kept her promise to help the old man. When she reached home, she realized that she had not lost any matches, but had actually saved them for someone else.
The Little Match Girl taught her that warmth and kindness are more precious than anything else in the world.
