故事標題:The Haunted House
It was a dark and stormy night. The wind was howling and the rain was pounding against the window panes. There was a strange silence in the old abandoned mansion across the street. A shiver ran down my spine as I gazed at the dark, deserted building.
"Why does someone own a haunted house?" I thought to myself. As I approached the house, my footsteps echoed through the empty halls. I could hear a faint, haunting laughter coming from somewhere in the house.
I walked into a room filled with dusty furniture and cobwebs. Suddenly, a figure appeared from behind a curtain. It was a woman, her face pale and her eyes staring vacantly into space. She began to wail and moan, her voice echoing throughout the room.
I screamed and ran out of the room, tripping over a pile of debris on the way out. As I stumbled into the next room, I heard another sound coming from behind a closed door. I opened it slowly and saw a man in a bloodstained shirt standing in front of a mirror, muttering to himself.
I quickly turned around and ran out of the house, locking the door behind me. As I walked away, I could still hear the faint laughter and wails coming from inside the house. I knew that I would never go back there again.
The next day, I learned that the abandoned mansion had once been a popular tourist attraction until it was abandoned due to a series of mysterious deaths and disappearances. I also learned that many people claimed to have seen ghosts there, but no one could prove anything.
Now, whenever I see an abandoned building, I always think of that haunted house and shudder at the thought of what might be lurking inside.
