英文諺語故事:The Blind Men and the Elephant
Once upon a time, a group of blind men were playing around an elephant, but they were all blind and could not see. They were curious about what the elephant looked like and started to feel its different parts.
One of them touched the elephant's leg, and said, "Oh, it's like a tree! It's solid and strong." Another touched the tail, and said, "No, it's like a rope, smooth and long." A third touched an ear, and said, "Ah, it's like a large drum, hollow and sensitive."
As they kept on feeling different parts of the elephant, they kept arguing among themselves about what it was really like. Each of them had a different impression of what the elephant was like, and they couldn't come to an agreement.
The story teaches us that we should not judge things hastily without considering all sides of the issue. Just like these blind men, we can all have different opinions and perceptions about a topic, and we need to be open-minded and inclusive to gather information and form a proper opinion.
