During the Dragon Boat Festival, there is a story about Qu Yuan, a great poet and minister of the Kingdom of Chu. Qu Yuan, who was dissatisfied with the corrupt officials and cruel policies of the king, threw himself into the Miluo River to protest. The people of Chu feared he would be swallowed by the water beast and immediately tried to save him, but they couldn't find him. To commemorate his heroic sacrifice, people from Chu changed their fast to dragon boat racing to search for Qu Yuan's soul and pray for peace and prosperity.
